Once upon a time,
In a land far, far away,
Was a tower hard to climb,
With it's bricks a gleaming gray.
Inside there was a princess,
So beautiful was she,
But her head completely thoughtless,
Her brain much like a pea.
There she sat, throughout the day,
Awaiting for the moment right,
When a man on a handsome bay,
Would turn out to be her courageous knight.
Deep in the forest, a mile off,
Lay a maiden more beautiful still,
A poisoned apple causing a cough,
Severe enough to kill.
She waited too, for a knight of her own,
For true loves awakening kiss,
For the chance to be a queen on the throne,
For a life of joyful bliss.
Inside a glass coffin the maiden slept,
Surrounded by little fat elves,
Each with a thought they privately kept,
"We'll have the house all to ourselves!"
High upon a mountain,
Was another pretty girl,
Entrapped inside a mansion,
With a man who made her hurl.
The "beast" she called him spitefully,
Had a horrendous complexion,
With a nose that was large abnormally,
And toes with a fungal infection.
She often too dreamed of a savior,
A boy with a handsome face,
Someone with a normal behavior,
Not lacking in manner or grace.
Just around the corner,
There was another still,
A princess making dinner,
In a dress without the frills.
She then did the dishes, swept the floor,
And folded all the clothing,
Trying to please the family of four,
To whom she was administering.
Unbeknownst to these four ladies,
Their knights were on their way,
Ready to accept the dowries,
That would no doubt be theirs today.
Prince Charmings were they, one and all,
Each handsome in his separate way,
With countenances strong and tall,
And clothes without a fray.
The first carried a golden mirror,
Peering handsomely at his reflection,
The second brought his newspaper nearer,
Enthralled within the sports section.
The third brave knight flexed his muscles,
Feeling very strong,
The fourth explained how eating brussels,
Could help you live very long.
From out of no where a dragon appeared,
With fiery breath and speed,
So the first brave knight volunteered,
For the ladies had to be freed.
Stepping cautiously up to the beast,
The first knight trembled with fear,
Suddenly he took of fast for the east,
Never again to appear.
The second prince, with his nose in a book,
Didn't realize that it was his turn,
And instead read about a pastry cook,
Instead of the present concern.
The third charming man stepped up to the task,
With little or no hesitation,
Until he tripped, and why you must ask?
Well, this really was not his vocation.
With one final chance, the fourth knight approached,
Adjusting his broadly rimmed spectacles,
However, having had never been coached,
The equation was one he found boggles.
The dragon did proudly boast of his victory,
Four princes defeated today!
However, the statement was quite contradictory,
As most of them managed to stay.
The second young prince, had finished his story,
And looked up in great astonishment,
For each of the men, searching for glory,
Had come to no great accomplishment.
The third strong knight picked himself up,
And dusting the dirt from his armor,
He resolved to ignore the previous hiccup,
Confronting the monster with renewed valor.
And... that's all I can come up with tonight. I guess you'll have to wait and see how it ends!
"Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name." -Psalm 100: 2,4
Ha ha, I love it!
