Don't Give Up On Yourself!

Here we go. Day... seven maybe?

1. The Read-a-thon tonight was really fun! Plus, I made some serious progress.
2. I have an essay on the Renaissance/Reformation time period that I need to finish. Soon.
3. Cinnamon and honey water. Not as good as it sounds.
4. Mythbusters gets slightly annoying.
5. I did Seminary this morning... I'm tired.
6. Lambs should be due pretty much any time! I'm so ready for that!
7. I really want to hang out with my three best friends ever: Jessica, Nikita, and Meghan. Of course.
8. I get my computer back on Saturday I think! FINALLY. I'm so ready to get back on my book.
9. If I won a million dollars the first thing I would buy would be... my way into college.
10. I need to get a vehicle this summer. And maybe a driver's license.

Well, that's all I've got. Nothing to exciting! Oh, but here's a picture. 'Cause I feel like sharing...

Just Embrace Who You Are!

I'm tired so I'm gonna make this quick.

1. Sometimes I wish we had TV. Like with actual channels and fun stuff like that.
2. Seminary tomorrow morning. I really need to get to bed.
3. I wish I could sing. But I can't. Oh well!
4. Read-a-thon tomorrow for mutual. That'll be fun!
5. My mom makes the best Italian herb and cheese bread. No joke.
6. I am grateful for: warmth, dances, and socks. I love socks. Best invention ever.
7. I didn't get up my picture today for the photo challenge I'm trying to do. I'll do it tomorrow.
8. Running on a treadmill is a cruel form of torture. I would much rather run outside.
9. Looked into more college stuff today, like cost wise. I'm gonna have to win the lottery or something.
10. I can't think of anything else to write.

Goodnight world!

Keep Your Head Up!

Okay, I skipped a day. What of it?

I'm on day numba five!

1. I left my CTR ring at the gym yesterday and was SO mad at myself. But I went back there today and someone had turned it in! YAY! Because really, who would steal a ring that said "Choose the Right?"
2. I love Sundays. They start out with a good spiritual note and end very relaxed. Only thing that would make this day better would be brownies. But, unfortunately, I'm too lazy to make them.
3. My grandma is sending me another pair of bright red footie pajamas with reindeer heads on the toes. KILL ME NOW.
4. Editing may just be the funnest part of photography.
5. I've got two girls who've asked me to do their senior portraits this summer! Looks like this photography thing's gonna work!
6. This summer, I want to do at least one hike a week! I want to hike Pioneer Peak, Lazy, maybe around Hatcher's Pass, and the Butte a couple times. I wish it was summer already!
7. When I have kids, I'm getting miniature carharrts for them. SO ADORABLE.
8. "But I was born to be a warrior of light, with faith to move mountains and the power of God, filling my life." -Valiant Faith. Pretty much best Young Women's song ever.
9. Amazing is my word.
10. I am thankful for: warm sweaters, orange juice, and the gospel. And more. But that's all I'm going to put for right now.

And there you have it.

Girl, You Can Do Anything.

That's right... day number four. Booya.

Here's my ten daily thoughts.

1. My hands are freezing.
2. The sheep should be due soon! Very soon. And there's nothing better than lambs.
3. Today for my photo challenge I have to take a picture of something warm. I should probably go get that done. After I'm done with this.
5. "The days are gonna get longer, the sun is gonna shine stronger!" These are lyrics from a song my amazing best friend Jessica is writing. She's got some skill.
6. I have developed a fondness for big sweaters. Probably because it's SO STINKING COLD.
7. I can tell the Three Little Pigs story better than anyone on this entire earth. Canyon makes sure he hears it every night. So yeah, I'm pretty boss at it. Not to brag or anything.
8. I'm reading a book of stories compiled by Hans Christian Anderson for a literature based class I'm taking. Just so you know.
9. Chapstick... yeah, it's to die for.
10. Tomorrow I get to go to the gym. YES.

There you have it.

True Story

Well, day number three! (This is the longest I've ever kept up with one of these challenges! Woot woot!).

Here goes.

1. There is nothing more amazing than Chicken dumplings. Well, maybe Narnia, but that's beside the point.
2. I need to go practice the piano. But I don't really feel like it. So I won't. Right now, at least.
3. I love my CTR ring. It's amazing.
4. This summer, I really want to go to Seward and take pictures.
5. Me and Nikita are what I would call, "obsessed".
6. I am so thankful for technology!
7. "Pa, pa, pa, poker face, pa, pa, poker face." I don't especially like Lady Gaga, but Nikita got it stuck in my head.
8. <--- It looks like a snow man. I hate snow.
9. Celestial is such a pretty. If a word can be pretty. Which it can.
10. The saddest part on Troy is when Patroclus dies.

True story.

1,000 Thoughts

I've been having such a hard time lately thinking about what to post on here. I'm just not a blogger, apparently. However, I've got a plan. Each day, for 100 days, I'm going to post ten random thoughts like I did yesterday. By the time I'm done, I'll have 1,000 thoughts and hopefully, 100 decent blog posts.

So, here goes day number two.

1. If the world as we know it ended, I would miss shampoo and conditioner. Alot.
2. I need to do more yoga. Or at least keep to a regular schedule of it.
3. Computers frustrate me.
4. "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot." (Can't get it out of my head!)
5. I wish I had my drivers license. Or, maybe I wish insurance wasn't so expensive.
6. Orange juice is heavenly. It's a fact.
7. Given the choice to marry anyone in this world, I'd choose Garret Hedlund, or in other words, Tron Man.
8. I'm wearing a hoodie and sweats.
9. If I could have a super power: The ability to eat anything without getting fat. Yesssss.
10. Sometimes I wish I had been born in the past. But then I remember that I have toothpaste, running water, electricity, etc. and I'm glad I live when I do!

There ya go. That's twenty thoughts so far! (Let's see if I can actually do this all 100 days. Yeah. We'll see.)
"La, la, la. Whatever. La, la, la."

A Penny For Your Thoughts

Well, because it's late and I'm being lame, I'm not going to spend a whole lot of thought on this post. So, here's some random thoughts.

1. Sometimes I wish I lived somewhere warmer. Because it's for serious cold out there.
2. I can't believe this summer is my last summer as a high schooler. Wow does time go by fast.
3. I really like the colors teal and orange together. Don't ask me why.
4. If I could change one thing about myself, I'd be a few inches taller.
5. I wish that I had stuck with dance when I was younger and gymnastics. I could have been pretty legit at it by now.
6. I hate it when teenage boys refer to themselves as "men". I mean, really? "Little Man Syndrome" much?
7. I wish I could stay 16 forever. Sometimes.
8. If the Hunger Games movie would just come out already, my life would be very nearly complete.
9. I personally have the very best friends a girl could ask for.
10. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." -Proverbs

Well, that's what I got. Take it or leave it! ;)

"Yeah girls just wanna have fun."

Guess What?!

IT'S WARRRRRM! Well, technically, it's actually only around 35ish degrees, but to me, that's pretty stinking warm. In fact, it's so warm that the water buckets aren't freezing up! This means, no cracking ice chunks out of everybody's buckets and less times I have to haul water. So nice, so nice.

Well, all of the critters are doing good here. Henry is finally starting to come around to me. He's letting me rub his forehead and he'll touch my hand when I offer it to him. Benjamin's about the same, as much trouble as ever.

Borie decided to rearrange the tack room the other day. I wasn't home when it happened, but apparently she reached in and unhooked every bridle, hackamore, halter, etc and piled it in the middle of the floor along with all the saddles and pads. Such a helpful horse. And that's why I love her.

I've also been doing some scheming. As soon as it gets warm I plan on ordering a bunch of silkie bantam chickens. But I only want to keep three. And since they're bantams (miniature), I want a little tiny coop for them, so I'm trying to design that too. It's taking some thought! But I can't even order the little guys until it gets warm... *sigh* ... so it's going to be a while yet. And when I get them, they are going to have some fabulous names. I'm thinking like:

-King George,

-Fredrick Von Fredrick,

-Alfred the Great,

-Sir Harold the Magnificent, or

-Richard the Lion-Hearted.

Ya know, just the basics. If they're hens, well, then Queen Elizabeth or Princess Mary, something along those lines. Oh and here's a picture of what silkie bantams are supposed to look like.

Cute, huh? I think so.

Anywho... not really a whole ton has happened lately. I got a few neat pictures, did some editing, did a photo shoot for the Reindeer Farm. House sat last weekend. Yeah. So, life's life.

BUT, I did make a decision the other day. When this year started I didn't really have the best mood I could about it. However, I have decided to change that. I figure, I can make this year however I want it to be and it's my choice, not that of those around me. Who cares what they think or what their outlook is? This is my year! So, it's going to be amazing. Plus, while I was thinking about it... this is going to be my last summer as a high schooler. How scary is that?! So, obviously, I have to make it the best. Just amazing.

Wellsies, that's just about all that I got. Here's a scripture that I found that made me laugh. And it gave me a new outlook on trials!

"And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee; if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way; and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good." -Doctrine & Covenants 122:7

Twenty-Twelve? What have you got for me?

Well, it's a new year... six days into a new year to be exact. And of course, each new year comes with new plans. I haven't gotten around to writing out my New Years resolution yet, so I figured I'd do that here. So... here goes.

What I want to accomplish this year:

1. Finish my Junior Year with all A's.
2. Apply for as many scholarships as are available (and maybe win a few?).
3. Send a photo in to National Geographic.
4. Finish Borie's leg-cue training.
5. Begin teaching Benjamin how to drive. Maybe Henry as well. (Yes, big goal, but I at least want to get a start on it!)
6. Lose 15 lbs.
7. Read all of the books on my "To Read" list.
8. Make at least one new friend.
9. Take a road trip somewhere. Even if it's just Fairbanks or Seward. (I'd love to get some photos in Seward...)
10. Have AT LEAST $2,000 saved up for college. That should pay for my entrance fee.

I decided to just make ten. That way, I don't go TOO overboard! Because believe me, there's so many things I want to get done that if I wrote them all down, I'd just feel inadequate by the end of 2012. So 10. And that's all. For now. Until I manage to squeeze some more in there.

Anywho. So. That "To Read" list I mentioned above? Well, basically, whenever summer comes around I make a list of classics that I've always wanted to read. However, I've never ACTUALLY made it all the way through said list. This year that's gonna change! Here's what I am going to read this year...

-Dante's Inferno. All three levels. Yes. Will do.

-The Odyssey. Kill me now. Not looking forward to this one. BUT I lived through the Illiad so this shouldn't be too difficult.

-Animal Farm. Haven't read it yet, but I really ought to. Apparently it has good parallels to today's society?

-The Alloy of the Law. Haha, now this one, I'm excited for. Absolutely LOVED the previous three by Brandon Sanderson.

-Anna Karenina. Eh, just one I put on the list.

-Jane Eyre. Watched the movie. Loved it. Read Wuthering Heights. Loved it. So now I'm finally going to read the book.

There may be more... but I can't think of them at the moment.

Anyway... you know those movies like The Perfect Man and Lizzy McGuire? So cheesy, but also so adorable and happy. I kinda miss stories like that. You NEVER see them any more. I swear, all the TV shows/movies recently portray teenagers as sluts, drug addicts, alcoholics, or socially backwards people and it's just... frustrating! I mean, come on. Random thought, but it's been bugging me lately.

Something else that's been bugging me is the drama with a majority of the high school girls I know. It is so incredibly stupid. I can't even stress how immature they all look and act, when they think they're just living up to their rolls as teenage girls. No wonder half the LDS boys I know are not interested in asking anyone out on just dates. Because it just gets twisted all out of proportion. So ridiculous. And what's with the whole age segregation thing now?! Like the rest of the sixteen and up year old girls are apparently way to mature to be seen with the younger fourteen year old girls? What the heck? Really? And now they shun the younger girls who hang out with the sixteen year old guys? I honestly do not get it.

And it does not help being a sixteen year old girl living in a place where all the half-way decent looking Mormon guys are headed in the wrong direction. Oh well. Whatever.

But to end it on a good note... My official summed-up New Years Resolution: "We gonna party like, like it's 2012!" Haha, just kidding. Well, actually, why not? Bring it, twenty-twelve!

Peace out y'all! Let's make this year count!
